Ongoing Programs for Adults

Body Sculpting

Weekly through June 2017: Monday & Thursday 9:30am

Also known as Geri-Fit, the fitness class offered at no cost for participants 50+ years of age. Body sculpting will improve muscular strength, balance, coordination, motor skill, reaction time, flexibility, gait, arthritic conditions and functional capacity. Most of the exercises are preformed seated in chairs but participants have the option to stand. A stretch band and 2 pound weights are required for the class. No registration required.

 

Tai Ji Quan

Weekly through June 2017: Monday and Thursday at 10:30am

Funded by the Luzuerne~Wyoming County Area on Aging, Tai Ji Quan is designed for participants over 50 years old. Experience relaxation while stretching with circular, continuous movements.No registration required.

 

Knutty Knitters

Weekly: Thursdays at 6pm

Knitters and crocheters of all experience levels (including anyone who is interested in learning how to knit or crochet) are invited to stitch and socialize.

 

Affinity is a nonprofessional, self supporting, multi-racial group that meets once a month.

Meets: every third Tuesday 6:00pm-7:00pm

Tunkhannock Public Library Community Room

Affinity is designed to help those who are suffering from debilitating illnesses such as Cancer, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Neuropathy, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Cardiovascular Diseases, Neuromuscular  Diseases just to name a few.
